In just four seasons Parati Competitive Rowing has taken youth rowing by storm in the Central region. Parati thumped 16 other Texas teams on April 16th in Austin to capture the State Championship trophy with 231 points, 46 points ahead of second place. In addition to the team championship Parati rowers won four individual gold titles, four silver medals and four bronze medals. This young team is poised to repeat their success at the Central Youth Championships in Oklahoma City on May 7 and 8, expecting to qualify a record number of crews for the US Rowing National Championship regatta in New Jersey on June 10-12.
Winning individual State Championship titles for Parati are Jacob Castro and Dylan Dalpedri in the Men’s Youth Lightweight 2x, Katie Dolan and Claire Bremner in the Women’s Youth JV 2x, Nick Jablonski, Jorge Rodriguez, Mauro Rodriguez and Morgan Pirie in the Men’s Youth JV 4x, and Drew Nichols, Nick Jablonski, Morgan Pirie and Jorge Rodriguez in the Men’s Youth Novice 4x.
Silver medalists include John Montano and Morgan Pirie in the Men’s Youth JV 2x, Jack Schofield, Cooper Jones, Eduardo Merida and Eddie Smith in the Men’s Youth 4x, Katie Dolan, Claire Bremner, Jayna Dolfi and Audrey Shellum-Gonzalez in the Women’s Youth JV 4x, and Allyson Deverse, Cassie Robinson, Jayna Dolfi and Emmi Dolan in the Women’s Novice 4x.
Bringing home the bronze were Lindsey Brown in the Women’s Youth 1x, Allyson Deverse and Ally O’Keefe in the Women’s Youth Novice 2x, Lindsey Brown and Grace Butero in the Women’s Youth 2x, and Jacob Castro, Dylan Dalpedri, Reid Marlow and Nate Eastwick in the Men’s Youth 4x.
Head Coach Mike Rosman expects his team to have a great showing at Regionals in OKC. “Nobody trains harder than our kids; Parati rowers do not quit. As the season progresses we just get tougher.”
