Parati had a great showing at the Central Youth Championships in Oklahoma City to qualify 6 crews to US Rowing Youth Nationals at Mercer Lake in New Jersey June 10 – 12. In spite of sweeping for only 2 short months, Parati captured gold in the Men’s Youth lightweight 8+ and in the Men’s Youth lightweight 4+, upsetting Jesuit, OKC and Dallas United as a 4th seed. Winning silver, and securing a bid to Nationals, was the Women’s Youth 4+. Parati’s Women’s Youth 2x, the Men’s Youth lightweight 2x, and the Men’s Youth 4x also received bids. Parati will take 19 athletes to race at Nationals, a remarkable feat for a team of 47 kids in only its 4th season. With only one graduating senior amongst the Nationals qualifiers, Parati’s future looks very bright.
